Mark wanted to create an incentive for people to visit IMAX and ultimately get more people through the door, as well as offer a competitive price. The aim was to sell 10,000 vouchers and also to be able to track the success of the campaign.
The initial IMAX campaign came together very smoothly, and once Mark and his Groupon Business Manager decided on the price-driven incentive, they were able to create a campaign that allowed Mark to set a voucher limit of 10,00 vouchers. Impressively, all 10,000 of those ended up selling in just over 24 hours! Mark was exceptionally happy with the customers IMAX received through Groupon, and found they tended to spend just as much as regular customers on extras like popcorn and drinks. Using Groupon's Merchant Tools, the team at IMAX were able to track the success of their deal over time, and continue to run deals with the same success rate through Groupon today.
