One day on the water: Powerboat course with instructor
- Upon successful completion, eligible for a power boat certificate
- Take the course certificate to a Service NSW centre and apply for a boat licence (no need to sit the Service NSW theory test).
The power boating pathway begins here, introducing one to practical driving skills, trip planning, boat maintenance, safety equipment and dealing with emergencies. After completing this course, one will be able to take the certificate to an NSW Service Centre to apply for a license.
Course Overview: One-day course with a mixture of theory and practice that will give one the knowledge and skills to get your NSW general boat licence. The course is for beginners and those that have experience but would like some additional instruction and to get their NSW boat license. The participant will be placed in a small group with a powerboat instructor ensuring they get plenty of time to practice and refine their skills.

Course Steps: Attend the one-day course at Manly Sailing (a mixture of theory & practical information) with constant assessment by the instructor during the day. If one passes, the student can take the course certificate to a Service NSW centre and apply for a boat license (with no need to sit the Service NSW theory test!)

Upon completing the course, one will receive an Australian Sailing Start Powerboating certificate for $50 payable to the merchant on the day, which can be exchanged for an NSW Boat License. Certificate cost not included. Charge of $50 to the merchant for the certificate.
