Doff the felt fedora or feathered headpiece and enjoy either $60 or $80 to spend on any exquisite food and drinks. Get the party stared with a Strawberry Jazz featuring Hennessy VS cognac, strawberry, balsamic vinegar, lemon and sparkling wine ($19); carry on with a Peruvian Night mixing pisco, apricot brandy and Cointreau with lemon and egg white ($19); or finish on a high note with a Triple C Martini, shaking up Russian standard vodka with white cacao liquor, vanilla syrup and chilli ($17). Rule number one at The Red Door is ‘never drink on an empty stomach’, with a unique bar menu created by Foveaux’s executive chef Darrell Felstead to serve, nourish and protect from hangovers. Try an oyster with chardonnay vinegar pearl, salmon roe and chive ($3.50), a selection of four cheeses with toasted walnut bread and fruit ($20) or a sweet treat such as strawberry parfait with pistachio wafers, peppermint tea jelly and strawberry sorbet ($15).
