Humans who merely suffer from rumbling stomachs when they're hungry should spare a thought for koala bears who rumble all over, causing them to suddenly vibrate and fall out of their tree around lunchtime. Make sure tummy rumblings are barking up the wrong tree with today's Groupon for Maurizio Restaurant, CBD:

Two or four Groupies take their place for fine Italian dining amid the delicately folded napkins, soft furnishings and paintings that together create an atmosphere balancing formality with fun. Upon arriving, head chef Maurizio is on hand to help put together an entree, main course and dessert that perfectly complement one another, to create an authentically Italian dining experience. The seasonal menu is naturally subject to regular change, but peeps can expect to see Maurizio's inimitable expertise behind entrees such as fresh beef Carpaccio served with shaved Parmesan cheese, and crispy fried prawns in saffron batter with dusted calamari and whitebait.
Past main courses have included Roman red-letter plates from rack of lamb crusted with mustard and pistachio nuts, to fresh scampi baked with seasoned breadcrumbs. No Italian restaurant worthy of the name would forgo the delights of dessert so Groupies can expect the full gamut of treats: chocolate and chilli soufflé, and homemade lemon cheesecake have previously commanded star billing.
Maurizio Restaurant
As charismatic and beautiful as the exquisite statues standing to attention over the Trevi Fountain, Maurizio Restaurant brings a slice of Rome to central Perth. Having trained in Italy at Villa Santa-Maria and gaining valuable experience working there, Switzerland and London, head chef Maurizio Di Ciano needed a new challenge. Italy's loss was Australia's gain, his arrival in the country soon followed by an Alinta Gas Maitre’D of the Year before the passionate Abruzzesi opened Maurizio Restaurant some 12 years ago.
Fortnightly Il Giro D’Italia dinners have become a renowned occasion as a culinary odyssey transports guests everywhere from sun-drenched Tuscan vineyards to rustic Sardinian inns. This is one Italian trip that won't set Groupies back much with free parking nearby.
