About Turpan Restaurant
Turpan is an oasis city in Xinjiang Autonomous Region, North West of China. Located along the Silk Road’s northern route, Xinjiang’s abundance of cultural diversity is owed to its close proximity to neighbouring countries, bordering with; Russian, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan.
Much of the local food is influenced by Uyghur culture – the largest non-Han ethnicity in the state, characterised by lamb, beef, camel, chicken and carrots, tomatoes, onions, eggplant, sautéed, deep fried, stewed with spices such as dried chillies, cumin, ground pepper and vinegar. The majority of our signature dishes are hand crafted and prepared on sight to give you the most authentic, tasty and healthy experience. Head Chef, Rocky Yu is a Turpan native who especially prides on the quality and authenticity of his food.
