The Monk Brewery

Proudly Fremantle’s only independent small batch craft brewery, The Monk Brewery attracts flocks of locals with its crafted beer and seasonal menu. Monk oozes rustic charm, courtesy of wood furnishings from the old Leighton railway station and floors made with traditional monastery marble. Stainless steel and glass tables, and chairs made from refashioned shopping trolleys add the finishing touches.

The beers are crafted onsite with locally sourced ingredients, and are free from preservatives, additives and anything else that detracts from their taste. Four core range draught beers are available, the Common, Reserved, Extra and Vintage. Beer connoisseurs will find the colour, strength and flavour that appeals to them the most, with the beverage list also featuring wine, cider and cocktails. 

Simple and honest fare from the kitchen complements the drinks offering well, including share-style dishes and hearty mains. Designed by the beer team at Monk, the pairing menu is designed to offer both a contrasting and complementing experience. If a casual lunch or dinner isn’t enough, organise to hold your next function at The Monk Brewery, like in the Barrel Room among all the barrel-aged beers. Our favourite place in Fremantle. Always a great vibe. Afternoon drink outside with some small meals or inside to a sit down dinner. Keep going back again and again for the Chief beer and the chili squid.

We stumbled across the Monk Brewery after a long day walking around. It was the perfect place to sit and have a beer or two. We had a tasting plate which was great. We came back the next day for a very yummy lunch. Service was fantastic and staff very friendly.
