The accommodation is directly adjacent to the Apollo Bay Surf Beach, a 10-minute walk from the Harbour, 25-minute drive to the Great Otway National Park and a stone’s throw away from a smattering of shopping and dining options. A couple of loved-up Groupies or parties of four reside in a one or two-bedroom apartment with full kitchen and private balcony overlooking the mountains or ocean. Guests toast their stay in their self-contained dwellings with a complimentary bottle of wine before cooking up a storm or heading to the choice of restaurants 500m away. The late 12pm checkout on the last day gives guests an extended opportunity to bid farewell to the picturesque region before heading home.

The Area: Apollo Bay

In south-western Victoria, the ocean meets parkland in the coastal town of Apollo Bay, a central starting point to see some of the great wonders of the state. Zoom down the Great Ocean Road, measuring 243km along the coastline with views of the ocean and cliff edges. Marvel over the Twelve Apostles, the grand limestone structures as a result of erosion beginning millions of years ago. Immerse yourself in nature with a venture through the Great Otway National Park, a forest playground of ferns, waterfalls and lakes.

Enjoy the lush surroundings on the Great Ocean Walk, opting for a short or overnight hike, or try horse and bike riding or settle down on a leafy bed for a picnic and camping adventure. Visitors can also take a trip into the town centre for a selection of shops and eateries, peek at underwater life at the Bass Strait Shell Museum or kick back and relax on one of the sandy beaches.

We booked into Apollo Apartments as part of a group. Rooms were clean and spacious. Reception very friendly and welcoming. Undercover car parking and very secure. Great spot just opposite the beach and short walk to shops and eateries. Pricing very reasonable. Happy to recommend.
