In our opinion it was five star, everything we needed was available. In our experience five star luxury resorts are cold and impersonal. Mia is warm and friendly. We stayed at the resort six days out of the eight days because we loved it so much and didn't want to leave. We are so glad we ignored the negative comments in other reviews. We thought it was wonderful as did every other person we spoke to.

We spent our honeymoon at Mai Samui in March 2015 and could not be happier with the presentation and service at the resort. Our room was beautiful, with a spacious bed, comfortable balcony seating, and a gloriously decadent bathroom. The tub was enormous! We enjoyed starting our days with a morning swim in the pool, followed by an excellent breakfast buffet. The selection of western and Asian breakfast options was topnotch.
