Its amazing limestone crystal features make the effort worthwhile, and the underground ‘River Styx’, with the pure and still ‘Pool of Reflections’ also promises to astonish. See the huge ‘Queen Esther’s Chamber’, magnificent shawls, and endless famous stalactites and stalagmites, including the ‘Minaret’, ‘Grand Column’ and the ‘Queen’s Canopy’. The River Cave tour includes two high, steep ladders, so be sure to come equipped with practical clothing and footwear.
Jenolan Caves is situated in a vast nature reserve. Stroll along the bush trails in the early morning or at dusk, and you may just spot native birds and animals in the wild, including platypus, wallabies, kangaroos, lyre birds, parrots and even wombats.
