The Hotel: Beachcomber Island Resort

Situated on a small island, which in turn lies on a marine sanctuary in the heart of the Mamanuca Islands, Beachcomber Island Resort effortlessly combines a relaxing getaway with a fun- and adventure-filled one. Just 19km from Nadi International airport, the resort also offers land and sea transfers to make getting there easy, but all its amenities and its picturesque location make leaving the resort hard.

This place was by far our most favorite place to stay in the Yasawa Islands. We had originally scheduled one day here but extended to a second day, and they gave us a free honeymoon upgrade to a private bure. It was amazing. The bure itself was outfitted with everything you needed, including its own loungers and a hammock. The staff, as always, are so helpful and kind. The service was usually pretty good. The food.. soooo yummy. They have a great buffet spread for meal times, and lots of options. The atmosphere is great if you like to party, but we wanted a relaxing time, so it was nice that our bure was situated a bit away from the main party area. But loved seeing the socializing and partying from afar.

When you get here you realise it really is the definition of an island. Its so small and relaxed, sand floors everywhere and since everybody eats together at designated times it feels very communal which may sound strange at first, but its great for a change from our busy lives earing takeaway or at a dinner table with family/friends. You meet many interesting people from all over the world and engage in activities like kayaking, snorkling or partying with them (if thats what youre in to!)
