The Experience

Located at the centre of Mount Agung, Mount Batur is an active volcano 1,717m above sea level. It takes physically fit hikers approximately two hours to hike to the top. A beautiful sunrise view awaits travellers at the summit of the mountain.

At 2am, tourists would be picked up from their hotel and whisked away to Pura Jati Temple. Arriving at the starting point at 3.45am, they would be given an introduction and safety procedure briefing by the trekking guides. The hike starts at 4am and trekkers are expected to arrive at the summit crater at 6.15am to enjoy a breakfast of boiled eggs while admiring the views from above. 

At 7am, the journey continues with a trek around the entire crater, before trekkers descend back to Pura Jati Temple at 8am. Visitors board their vehicles at 9am and will make a short stop at a Balinese coffee plantation at 9.30am to learn how Balinese coffee is made via a traditional process. Tourists are expected to return to their hotel at 12pm.
