Basking under the hot Asian sun, Phuket, the country's largest island, is located in the south of Thailand. With a cornucopia of verdant pastures and water sports activities, this island creates a unique universe of palm trees, crystal-clear waters, and sandy beaches.
Chinese and Portuguese architectural styles have left their mark on the classic buildings that may be seen in Old Phuket Town, while one of the most traditional attractions is the imposing white statue of Big Buddha, set in a 25-metre base. Numerous worship structures abound on this island, including Wat Chalong, a Buddhist temple with golden decorations and a high spire, and Wat Mai Luang Pu Supha temple which was built on water.
