Located in the heart of Melbourne’s Chinatown, The Chinese Museum was set up in 1985 with the aim of documenting, preserving, collecting and researching the history and culture of Chinese Australians and their descendants. On a mission to promote Chinese heritage, the museum offers permanent and special exhibitions, as well as guided tours, programs and workshops. The Chinese Museum also hosts international and local artists that present exhibitions, cultural events and contemporary art shows.
