Tired of the pale imitations of Indian food he kept encountering in Australia, Gopal Singh Manral decided to set up his first Annapurna restaurant in 2000.

Serving up an array of authentic Indian dishes, the restaurant proved popular, leading to the opening of a second restaurant in Salamanca in January 2007 and a third in Brisbane in 2012.
